WATCH: Rohit Sharma's 'Brain Fade' Moment At Toss In India vs New Zealand 2nd ODI
Ex-India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar, who is part of the commentary team, said, "I think he might've had an ice cream before coming to the toss and had a brain-freeze".
IND vs NZ: A hilarious incident took place during India vs New Zealand 2nd One-Day-International, Sunday, Raipur. Captain Rohit Sharma, who called the toss, had a brain-freeze moment. The senior opener took over 10 seconds to announce his decision. New Zealand captain Tom Latham, presenter Ravi Shastri and match referee Javagal Srinath found the incident quite funny as they smiled while looking at each other, waiting for Rohit to reveal whether his team will bat or bowl first. Eventually, Rohit said that the Blues will bowl first at Chhattisgarh's Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium.
"I forgot what we wanted to do, had plenty of discussions with the team about the toss decision, just wanted to challenge ourselves under difficult conditions, but we'll bowl first. Was a good test for us, knowing that the wicket will get better to bat on and that was the challenge in front of us. Bracewell batted well, but we bowled well in the end and won the game. There was a bit of dew during the practice sessions, but we've heard from the curator that it will not play a role on game days. We batted first in Hyderabad, we wanted to bowl first here, same team," Rohit said at the toss.
