Ind vs Eng: Jonny Bairstow Slams Sunil Gavaskar For 'Uninterested In Test Cricket' Remark
India vs England: Former India skipper Sunil Gavaskar had questioned Jonny Bairstow's intent by saying that he looked 'uninterested' during his stay at the crease.
England's star batsman Johnny Bairstow (112-ball 124) scored a fantastic century in India vs England second ODI on Friday. With this, England managed to level the three-match ODI series 1-1.
Bairstow was also amazing with the bat in Ind vs Eng 1st ODI. He missed out on getting a century but scored a quick 66-ball 94. For England, Bairstow is an important player in the shortest format but he is not so successful in Test cricket.

During India's Test series against England, Jonny Bairstow got out on zero in both innings in Ind vs Eng third Test, played in Ahmedabad.
Reacting to his dismal form, former India skipper Sunil Gavaskar had questioned Bairstow's intent by saying that he looked 'uninterested' during his stay at the crease.
"You have not scored a run, and just come in and pushed at it, as if there was no fielder at backward short leg. It looked to me as if it was the shot of a person uninterested,” former India opener Sunil Gavaskar had said.

After India vs England 2nd ODI, when Bairstow was asked to react to Gavaskar's comments, he said,“First of all, I hadn’t heard what he said. Secondly, I’m interested in knowing how an opinion can be made especially when there has been no correspondence or communication between him (Gavaskar) and me… As I said, my phone is on and if he just wants to give me a call or a message, he can feel free to do.”
