Ind vs Eng: Virat Kohli Becomes 1st Indian Player To Register Unique Test Record

Virat Kohli has become the first Indian player to take more than 50 catches against any two teams. If we talk about taking most catches in Tests, Rahul Dravid (210 catches) holds the elite record.

New Delhi: England cricket team were bowled out for 284 runs in their first innings in the ongoing India vs England Birmingham Test. During this, Jonny Bairstow played a swashbuckling knock to notch up a century for England. Mohammad Siraj took the maximum 4 wickets for India, Jasprit Bumrah bagged 3 wickets.

Meanwhile, former India skipper Virat Kohli became the first Indian player to take more than 50 catches against two teams in international cricket.

Virat Kohli took the catch of Jonny Bairstow during the first innings of England. With this, he completed 50 catches while playing against England. The senior batter has taken 55 catches against Australia.

Kohli has become the first player to take more than 50 catches against any two teams while playing for India. If we talk about taking most catches in Test matches, team India head coach Rahul Dravid (210 catches) holds the elite record.

Significantly, India had scored 416 runs in the first innings before getting all out.  In reply, England scored 284 runs in their first innings.The Indian team will aim to get their hands on the Pataudi Trophy as they lead the series 2-1 and will be in a much better position at the start of the test in comparison with England.

Both the teams are coming off an impressive test series as India whitewashed Sri Lanka 2-0 at home, whereas England did the same to New Zealand at home (3-0). The test in itself will be special for both the teams as a lot of things are associated with this test match.
