'Not Just Smashing Doors, He's Burning Them': Ashwin On Sarfaraz Khan's Non-Selection In Test Team
A massive controversy erupted when Sarfaraz Khan, who as per fans and experts deserves to play Tests for India, wasn't picked by BCCI for India vs Australia Test series.
Mumbai batter Sarfaraz Khan has been in spectacular form in recent years but despite scoring plenty in the domestic circuit, he continues to miss out on getting a call-up in the Test team and remains to be a 'future plan'. BCCI recently announced India's squad for the first two Tests of the upcoming home series against Australia.
'White-ball specialists' Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav were picked by the selection committee but Sarfaraz, yet again, somehow missed out on making the national Test team.

Senior Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin opened up on Sarfaraz Khan's 'selection debacle'. “Where do I begin about this batsman? Sarfaraz Khan. There is so much debate on whether he should get selected or not. But he is not caring about selection, guys. In the 2019-20 season, he scored 900 runs. In the 2020-21 season, another 900 runs,” said Ashwin on his Youtube channel.
“This season, he has scored almost 600 runs. He has made a strong statement with his sheer performances. He is averaging in excess of 100 in the last three seasons at a high strike-rate as well. Sarfaraz Khan is not just smashing on the selection doors. He is burning them. But unfortunately, he is not getting selected currently. Despite not getting selected, he played a terrific knock for Mumbai against Delhi, the game in which Mumbai lost," he added.
