New Delhi: After winning the T20 series against South Africa, a second-string Indian team will play a three-match ODI series against the same team, starting from October 6. Senior opener Shikhar Dhawan will lead the team in absence of star players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma. Shreyas Iyer has been made the vice-captain.
Ravi Bishnoi and Deepak Chahar have been included in the ODI series despite being named as stand-by players for the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. Shubman Gill will continue to play at the top of the order. Kuldeep Yadav and Shahbaz Ahmed have also been included in India's ODI squad for South Africa series.

Mukesh earned a maiden India callup without playing a single game in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The young bowler has played 31-first class games during which he picked 113 wickets and 17 wickets in 18 List A games.
Rajat Patidar, on the other hand, was is remarkable form in IPL 2022, scoring 333 runs in eight innings for Royal Challengers Bangalore at an average of 55.50.
