Rohit Sharma Joins Indian Team In Edgbaston After Testing Covid-19 Negative
The first match of the T20 series between India and England, starting from July 7, will see the same team which was recently selected for the T20 series against Ireland.
New Delhi: Team India's all-format captain Rohit Sharma has joined the India team after testing negative for Coronavirus and will be available for selection for India vs England T20 series, starting from July 7, PTI reported. The senior opener had tested Covid positive ahead of Ind vs Eng 5th Test in Birmingham.
"Yes, Rohit has tested negative and as per medical protocols is now out of quarantine. However, he is not playing today's T20 warm-up game against Northamptonshire as he will need some recovery time and training ahead of first T20I," a senior BCCI official was quoted as saying by PTI.
Rohit Sharma tested Covid positive thrice before the Ind vs Eng Edgbaston Test match.
The first match of the T20 series between India and England, starting from July 7, will see the same team which was recently selected for the T20 series against Ireland. Although Rohit Sharma will join the team in the first T20, a separate team has been selected for the second and third T20 matches.
