'Walk Tall & Enjoy Life': Kevin Pietersen's Heartwarming Message For Under-Fire Virat Kohli - See Pic
Former England captain Kevin Pietersen has come out in support of Kohli, saying people can only dream of what the former captain has achieved in the game.
New Delhi: The Cricket fraternity has been divided over an intense debate about under-fire Virat Kohli's never-ending poor form in international cricket. Some believe Virat should be rested to get back his form, while there are fans and cricket pundits who feel the former India captain should be replaced with another player. Amid all the chaos, former England captain Kevin Pietersen has come out in support of Kohli, saying people can only dream of what the former captain has achieved in the game.
Kohli scored his last international century in the Pink Ball Test against Bangladesh in Kolkata on 23 November 2019. In the Lord's ODI (Ind vs Eng 2nd ODI), Kohli scored just 16 runs and with this, the wait for his century extended to more than 964 days.
Pietersen posted a photo with Kohli on Instagram and captioned the post: "Buddy, your career has had some of the best that have played the game only wish they could have done what you have(so far). Be proud, walk tall & enjoy life. There's way more than just the bubble of cricket out there. You'll be back, @virat.kohli.
Earlier, Babar had posted a tweet to support Virat Kohli moments after his dismissal for just 16 runs in Ind vs Eng 2nd ODI, writing, "This too shall pass. Stay strong. #ViratKohli," - a tweet that went viral. After two days, Virat replied to this tweet.
"As a player myself, I know you can go through such a phase (out of form) and I also know what a player goes through in such a phase. In those times, you need support. I just tweeted thinking that it will give just some support. He is one of the best players," Babar said during a press conference on eve of the first Test against Sri Lanka.
"He is playing a lot of cricket, and he knows how to come out of these situations. It takes time, if you back players, it will be really good," he added.
