ICC Women's World Cup: Here's How India Can Still Qualify For Semi-Finals After Loss To England

Australia & South Africa remain unbeaten so far and are almost certain to play semi-finals. There will be a tough competition between India, NZ, England, & West Indies for remaining two spots.

New Delhi: Mithali Raj-led India women's cricket team has two wins and two losses from four matches they played in the ongoing ICC Women's ODI World Cup 2022. With four points in their kitty, the Indian team sits at third place in the WC points table. After a crushing  4-wicket defeat against England, India's road to the semi-finals has become difficult, but they can still make it to the semi-finals.

Team India will face Australia, South Africa, and Bangladesh in their next three matches. India, based on their current form, has a very high chance of getting an easy win over Bangladesh, but against Australia and Africa, they will have to give their best. Both these teams so far are unbeaten in the tournament.

In the Women's World Cup points table, Australia, with eight points, remains at the top after winning all their four matches. South Africa, with six points, after winning three matches in a row is placed at the second spot in points table.

India, New Zealand, and West Indies are in third, fourth, and fifth positions respectively with two wins from four matches. These three teams have four points each, but India's run rate is the best among them.

After the end of the league matches of the Women's World Cup, the top four teams in the points table will play the semi-finals. Australia and South Africa remain unbeaten so far and are almost certain to play the semi-finals. There will be a tough competition between India, New Zealand, England, and West Indies for the remaining two places.

Here's how India can make it to the semi-finals of ICC Women's ODI World Cup

If the Indian team wins its remaining three matches, then it will have 10 points and they will easily reach the semi-finals. However, the chances are extremely slim, as it will not be easy for India to beat heavyweights Australia and South Africa. Team India will have to beat any one team from Bangladesh, Australia, and Africa at any cost. If this happens, India will have eight points and will make it to the semi-finals.
