ICC Rankings: Ravindra Jadeja Jumps 17 Places To Become No. 1 Allrounder In Test Cricket

Ravindra Jadeja's all-round performance against Sri Lanka was enough to remove West Indies' star all-rounder Jason Holder from the top spot, who had held the No. 1 spot since February 2021.

New Delhi: Indian cricket team's star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja moved up to number one spot in the ICC Men's Test all-rounder rankings after a stellar performance in the series opener in Mohali Test against Sri Lanka, while Virat Kohli (No. 5 in ICC Test batting rankings) and Rishabh Pant (No.1 in ICC wicket-keeper Test rankings) have also improved their rankings.

Ravindra Jadeja jumped 17 places in ICC Test batting rankings, from 54th to 37th position, courtesy of his unbeaten 175-run knock in the first innings against Sri Lanka, and picked nine wickets in the same match to move to top spot in ICC Test all-rounders rankings.

Jadeja's all-round performance against Sri Lanka was enough to remove West Indies' star all-rounder Jason Holder from the top spot, who had held the No. 1 spot since February 2021. Team India had won the first test by an innings and 222 runs and Jadeja was adjudged 'Player of the Match'.

The last time Jadeja had attained the top spot in ICC Men's all-rounder rankings was in August 2017, but for just one week.

Ex-India skipper Virat Kohli has jumped from No. 7 to No. 5 spot to become India's highest Test ranked batter in the ICC Men's Test batting rankings. R Ashwin, who bowled and batted well against Sri Lanka, continues to be at number two in the bowlers' rankings.

Wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant broke into the top 10 after a blistering knock of 96 in the Mohali Test. Pant is currently ranked 10th with 723 rating points.
