Shreyas Iyer Bags 'ICC Men's Player Of The Month' Award For February
Shreyas Iyer won the ICC Player of the Month award for his recent remarkable batting performances in the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka and West Indies.
New Delhi: The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the Player of the Month for February 2022 on Monday, March 14. Team India's all-format batter Shreyas Iyer has won the title in the men's category, while New Zealand's Emilia Kerr has won the ICC Player of the Month Award in the women's category.
Shreyas Iyer won the ICC Player of the Month award for his recent remarkable batting performances in the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka and West Indies. Iyer pipped past UAE batter Vriitya Aravind and Nepal all-rounder Dipendra Singh Airee to win the monthly award.

In February, Iyer scored 80 runs in the last ODI against West Indies in Ahmedabad. Continuing his great form, he went on to score over 200 runs in the three-match Ind vs SL T20 International series and remained unbeaten throughout the series.

Talking about New Zealand's 21-year-old all-rounder Emilia Kerr, she pipped past India women cricketers Mithali Raj and Deepti Sharma to win the Player of the Month award in the women's category.
Kerr showed a strong game in the white ball series against India, scoring 353 runs in the ODI series and taking 7 wickets. In the only NZ vs Ind T20 International match, she scored 17 runs and picked 2 wickets. She was awarded with Player of the Match in the second and fourth ODI matches against India.
