13 minutes later, the Argentinian found himself on the scoresheet as well, as Diogo Dalot’s low-cross was well-met by the winger, who produced a neat finish at the far post.
Bruno Fernandes scored a lovely free-kick to make it 4-1 at half-time and capped-off his brilliant day with a fine finish to make it 5-1 in the 59th minute.
With the win, Manchester United have now scored 5 goals in a single game for the first time since their 7-0 win against Barnsley back in September 2024.
Casemiro Returns To Form With A Stunning Goal
Casemiro has been heavily criticised for his lack of form and consistency in 2024, and there were several reports that the veteran midfielder might be sold in the winter transfer window. However, the 5-time UEFA Champions League winner with Real Madrid produced an outstanding performance, displaying the Casemiro of old days, as he scored a brace to help Manchester United oust Leicester City to qualify for the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup 2024/25.
The fans are now hopeful that the Brazilian can find his feet under Ruud Van Nistelrooy, as Manchester United are heavily struggling in both, the Premier League and UEFA Europa League, competitions this season.
