Here's What Manchester United Players Said After Winning The FA Cup
As reported by Manchester United's official website, Bruno Fernandes labelled the side's victory as "special" and had the following to say:
"It’s a long season, it was difficult. It was our last chance to get something positive from the season. We’ve been here last year, we were not good enough go up the stairs and lift the trophy, so we had to see them doing that. This season is the other way around. We played a great team. They have great qualities, great players, a great manager. We had to go there to suffer. We had to sacrifice, but we also had to put some quality into the game. And we did great things.”
Manchester United head coach Erik Ten Hag highlighted the importance of the fixture and that there was a lot to prove amidst an injury-affected season.
"As always the rivalry is always there and it is always much more important when you play against a team from your own city. For us it was not about this, it was about proving a point after having such a bad year with so many setbacks and all the injuries and every time we had to survive. The team showed so much resilience and I am so proud of them," said Erik Ten Hag.
