Ex-Chelsea Star Michael Ballack's 18-Year-Old Son Dies In Freak Accident
Emilio Ballack was the second of three kids between Michael Ballack and his ex-wife Simone Lambe. The other two children were born either side of Emilio.
Son of former Chelsea and Germany midfielder Michael Ballack's son Emilio Ballack, died in a quad bike crash in Portugal. As per the Portuguese media reports, the 18-year-old passed away when the bike he was driving, on or near land owned by his father in Portugal's Troia Peninsula, rolled backwards and fell on top of him. The firefighters tried to save his life but he was declared dead at the scene.
The news was officially confirmed after Chelsea offered their condolences to their former player.
The Blues tweeted: “Everybody associated with Chelsea football club is shocked and saddened to learn of the death of Emilio Ballack at the terribly young age of 18. All our thoughts are with his father Michael and his family at this sad time.”

During his stay with Chelsea, the 44-year-old Michael Ballack was a fan-favourite and was dubbed as one of the most talented football players of his generation. Ballack spent four seasons with the Blues and in 2021, rejoined Bayer Leverkusen before finally announcing his retirement in 2012.
Rudi Völler, the current managing director of sport at Leverkusen, said: “The news shocked me and I am deeply affected. We mourn the boy and feel for Michael and Simone. We all here at Bayer wish the whole Ballack family an incredible amount of strength.”
