Yashasvi Jaiswal, Two Others Who Could Make Big Impact In England Test Series

With a new-look team filled with youthful energy, fresh faces are ready to take center stage.

Team India will be tested like never before in the upcoming Test series against England. For the first time in years, the squad heads into a major red-ball tour without stalwarts Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma—both now retired from Test cricket.

With a new-look team filled with youthful energy, fresh faces are ready to take center stage.

Among them, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sai Sudharsan, and Prasidh Krishna are the ones to watch.

Young stars to watch

Prasidh Krishna – Pace Spearhead in the Making

Prasidh Krishna claimed the Purple Cap in IPL 2025 with 25 wickets in 15 matches, including a best of 4/41.

Though he has only played three Test matches so far, his height, pace, and bounce make him a genuine threat in seam-friendly English pitches. With 8 wickets in red-ball cricket so far, he’s expected to lead India’s pace attack in the absence of more seasoned quicks.

Sai Sudharsan – Poised for a Test Debut

Sai Sudharsan was a standout performer in IPL 2025 for Gujarat Titans. The 23-year-old left-hander racked up 759 runs in 15 matches at an average of 54.21 and a strike rate of 156.17, earning him the Orange Cap.

With one century and six half-centuries to his name, Sudharsan showcased consistency and composure under pressure. He is a strong contender to make his Test debut in this series.

Yashasvi Jaiswal – India’s Next Batting Mainstay

Already a regular in the Test setup, Yashasvi Jaiswal has quickly established himself as a key figure.

Since his debut in 2023, he has scored 1798 runs in 36 innings at an impressive average of 52.88, including 4 centuries and 10 fifties, with a best of 214. In IPL 2025, he tallied 559 runs in 14 games for Rajasthan Royals. With form on his side, he’ll be crucial to India’s top order in English conditions.
