Not Virat Kohli! This Indian Cricketer Has Most Test Tons vs England

Former Indian great holds the record for scoring the most Test centuries by an Indian against England.

Excitement is running high among cricket fans as India prepares to face England in a much-anticipated five-match Test series starting June 20. Team India has already departed for England, and all eyes are now on the young squad, which will play its first red-ball series in years without veterans Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

As the series approaches, discussions about historical records have gained momentum — and one name continues to stand out: Rahul Dravid.

Most Test Centuries for India vs England

Former Indian great Rahul Dravid holds the record for scoring the most Test centuries by an Indian against England. Widely respected as “The Wall,” Dravid scored seven centuries in just 21 Tests against England.

While Sachin Tendulkar also notched up seven centuries, he achieved the feat over 32 Tests, making Dravid’s consistency and impact even more impressive. Mohammad Azharuddin follows with six centuries in the storied rivalry.

Joe Root Tops the Overall List

From England’s side, Joe Root dominates the all-time list, having scored 10 centuries in 30 Tests against India — the most by any player in the history of India-England Tests. He is followed by Alastair Cook with seven centuries in 30 matches and Kevin Pietersen, who scored six centuries in just 16 appearances.

Youthful Team India Faces Big Test

India’s squad for the England series is full of young blood and fresh leadership. With Shubman Gill taking over as Test captain and Rishabh Pant serving as his deputy, the team embarks on a new era.

Without experienced stalwarts like Kohli and Rohit, it remains to be seen which new names will rise to the occasion and whether any of them can come close to matching Dravid’s record against England.
