WTC 2023-25 Updated Points Table: India's chances of qualifying to the WTC 2023-25 final have received a significant jolt after New Zealand handed Rohit Sharma & Co. a 3-0 home series defeat.
WTC 2023-25 Points Table After IND vs NZ Series: India suffered a historic 3-0 clean-sweep at the hands of the visiting New Zealand side as Tom Latham led the Black Caps to a 25-run victory over Rohit Sharma & co. in the third IND vs NZ Test at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on November 3 (Sunday). As a result, India have now slipped from the top to the second position in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 updated points table.
India were the top-ranked side in the WTC pointa table before the final IND vs NZ Test of the series in Mumbai as they had the points percentage (PCT) of 62.820. However, after the defeat, India slipped to the second spot as they now have the PCT of 58.33 with eight wins and five losses in 14 matches, positioned after Australia, who are leading the standings with the PCT of 62.5.
New Zealand were placed fifth before the Mumbai Test with the PCT of 50. However after the win in the IND vs NZ 3rd Test, they now stand at the fourth spot with the PCT of 54.550.

The 3-0 clean-sweep has significantly impacted India's path to the WTC final in 2025. However, they remain in the running for qualification. With five Tests remaining before the WTC final, Rohit Sharma & Co. must win four out of five Tests during the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia to secure their place in the final on their own terms.
On the other hand, New Zealand must win all three of their remaining home Tests against England to maintain their chances of competing in the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 final.
