Litton Das Comes Up With Apology After Disrespectful Behaviour With Bangladesh Journalists

On Monday morning, Litton posted an apology on his Facebook page, showing respect for the journalists and acknowledging their significant role in the development of Bangladesh cricket.

Bangladesh's star opener, Litton Das, has issued an apology after getting involved in a controversy with journalists during the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 in India. Litton expressed his dissatisfaction with the presence of media personnel in the Bangladesh team hotel lobby and reported it to the security guard. Bangladeshi journalists were taking pictures of the national players from a distance, which didn't sit well with Litton.

On Monday morning, Litton posted an apology on his Facebook page, showing respect for the journalists and acknowledging their significant role in the development of Bangladesh cricket. He wrote, "I apologize whole-heartedly for the incident that took place in the team hotel yesterday. Actually, I did not realize that a lot of journalists were present there. I am extremely sorry for the sudden mishap. I am always respectful towards the media. Journalists have played a big role in the development of Bangladesh cricket."

A senior reporter named Aasif Iqbal criticized Litton for his "rude and unacceptable" behavior, emphasizing that Litton shouldn't take out his frustration on journalists. The journalist stated, "It was rude behavior from Litton. We were insulted in some way, and it was not possible for us to accept it. Journalists will be there where Bangladesh cricket goes. The ICC had allowed us to talk to the players. Taskin (Ahmed) and Mahmudullah talked to us, but the way Litton behaved was unacceptable. He then asked the security what the mediapersons were doing. Just because he is not scoring runs doesn't mean that he will misbehave with us."

Bangladesh, led by Shakib Al Hasan, has won a single game out of three and currently holds the seventh spot in the points table. The team will face India, who have won all their 3 matches of the tournament so far and currently stand at the top of the table, on October 19 (Thursday) in Pune. It will be Pune’s first time that the city will be hosting a World Cup fixture.
