An all-round performance by Rajasthan Royals powered them to a seven-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad with five balls to spare. It was some disciplined bowling and valuable contribution with the bat by Ajinkya Rahane (39), Liam Livingstone (44 off 26) and Sanju Samson (48 unbeaten off 32) that helped RR emerge victorious. However, Shreyas Gopal bowled a googly to fox Pandey, who wanted to play a fine cut shot but the ball went off the face of the bat to wicket-keeper Sanju Samson. Rising to the opportunity, Samson broke the stumps but surprisingly did not appeal for a caught-behind and the TV umpire was called for a stumping appeal. Weirdly, the batsman was out twice; something rare but no something that had taken place for the first time in cricket. Pandya was then finally declared out, caught behind wicket.

Despite a 75-run stand between Warner (37 off 32) and Manish Pandey (61 off 36), Rajasthan bowlers jolted visitors at regular intervals to restrict Hyderabad at 160/8. Continuing their winning spree, Rajasthan Royals ended their home campaign on a winning note. This victory has kept their play-off chances alive in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). By virtue of this win, Rajasthan have now moved to the sixth position in the eight-team standings with 10 points from 12 games.
