WATCH: Parthiv Patel takes sensational catch to dismiss David Warner

New Delhi: Mumbai Indians registered a thumping victory against defending Champions Sunrisers Hyderabad in a high-volatage encounter at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday.


After winning the toss, Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma decided to chase, giving Hyderabad the chance set a high total and the SRH openers did not disappoint.


David Warner and Shikhar Dhawan started the innings with a bang, stitching 81-run stand for the first wicket. David warner smashed 49 runs off 34 deliveries. 


In an attempt to up the run rate David Warner decided to take on veteran Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh.  The Aussie batsman attempted a ‘switch hit’ but failed get hold of the middle of the bat, allowing Parthiv Patel to stride down to grab a stunner and give Mumbai Indians a much needed breakthrough.


Sunrisers Hyderabad could only manage to reach 158/8 and the hosts chased it with 4 wickets remaining and 8 balls to spare.
