Virat Kohli Takes Over Front Pages Of Australian Newspapers With Hindi Headlines Ahead Of BGT 2024-25

Virat Kohli dominates the front pages of Australian newspapers as excitement builds for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.

Virat Kohli Features In Australian Newspapers: Virat Kohli has found a place on the front page of the Australian newspapers accompanied by headlines in Hindi and Punjabi more than a week before the first bowl has been bowled of the much-anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-2025. Kohli, who has been a big face for cricket not just in India but throughout the world, will head into the five-match India vs Australia Test series looking to overcome a recent slump in form marked by a string of low scores in the red-ball cricket.

With the first IND vs AUS Test slated to take place in Perth from November 22, Kohli touched down in the city on Sunday, 12 days prior to the match.

Australian Newspapers Go Hindi & Punjabi In BGT Anticipation

The buzz surrounding the Border-Gavaskar Trophy is so intense that several Australian newspapers featured front-page stories on Kohli, with headlines in Hindi and Punjabi to highlight his widespread appeal. They also ran features on India batters Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant, building up anticipation for the young talents ahead of the series Down Under 

Sydney-based tabloid, The Daily Telegraph, dedicated its front page to Virat Kohli with the bold Hindi headline “Yugon Ki Ladai” (Fight for the Ages). Meanwhile, on the back page, young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was highlighted as “The New King,” accompanied by a Punjabi caption reading “Navam Raja.”

Kohli faces the dual challenge of taking on a strong Australian side while battling recent struggles with form. His recent home series saw India losing to New Zealand by 0-3, with Kohli posting his lowest home batting average in seven years. Managing just 93 runs at an average of 15.50, his performance was heavily criticised.
