Second in this list is former Sri Lanka skipper Kumar Sangakkara with 14,234 runs after featuring in 404 ODI matches. Just before retiring, he scored four back-to-back tons at the 2015 World Cup. Sangakkara, one of Sri Lanka's finest wicket-keeper batters, averaged 41.98 in ODIs and scored 25 centuries and 93 half-centuries in his illustrious ODI career.
Batting legend Ricky Ponting - Australia's most successful Test captain - was part of three ICC Cricket World Cup-winning squads (1999, 2003 and 2007) the last two as captain of Australia. Ponting scored 13,704 runs in 375 ODIs with 30 centuries and 82 half-centuries before retiring after getting dropped from the team in 2012.
Number four on this list is Sanath Jayasuriya, who hit 28 centuries and 68 half-centuries to finish his illustrious ODI career with 13,430 runs. He was a great all-rounder as well, taking 323 ODI wickets, more than 'spin wizard' Shane Warne in the format.
