‘If They Want To React…’: Travis Head Breaks Silence On Verbal Spat With Mohammad Siraj In Adelaide

Travis Head has addressed his altercation with Mohammed Siraj during Day 2 of the ongoing second India vs Australia Test in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25.

Australian batter Travis Head has addressed his altercation with Mohammed Siraj during Day 2 of the ongoing second India vs Australia Test in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25. Head shone brightly in Australia’s first batting innings of the pink-ball Test at Adelaide on Saturday, December 7, scoring 140 runs to put Australia in a commanding position.

During the 81st over of the second innings in the IND vs AUS Test, Mohammed Siraj was struck for a four and a six by Travis Head. The Indian pacer responded with a pinpoint yorker that rattled Head’s stumps. As Head walked back, Siraj exchanged a few words with him, prompting an angry Head to reply, "F*** off." The heated exchange led to Siraj being booed by the Adelaide crowd.

In an interview with the local broadcaster, Head said that he had complimented Siraj on the delivery that dismissed him. However, the left-hander added that Siraj misunderstood his remark and reacted aggressively.

“I said ‘well bowled’ but he thought otherwise when he pointed me to the sheds he got a little bit back from me. I’m slightly disappointed with how that transpired, with a couple of the past innings. It is what it is. If they want to react like that and that’s how they want to represent themselves, then so be it,” Head told Fox Cricket after the day’s play.
