WATCH: R Ashwin Takes 2nd Review For Already Reviewed Delivery In Never-Seen-Before Incident In TNPL
Ashwin, currently featuring in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2023, took a DRS review for an already reviewed decision during Dragons vs Ba11sy Trichy TNPL match in Coimbatore.
TNPL 2023: Senior India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is known for his remarkable cricketing sense and finesse on the field. A few years back in the IPL, all eyes were on Ashwin after he mankaded Jos Buttler run out at the non-strikers' end. The incident made a lot of headlines and 'mankading' became one of the most trending topics among cricket fanatics. It gained so much hype that even ICC had to officially once again declare mankading a legal way of getting a wicket.

Veteran R Ashwin was yet again involved in one of the very rare incidents on a cricket field and not just rare, probably a 'never-seen-before incident', at least in the TNPL history. Ashwin, currently featuring in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2023, took a DRS review for an already reviewed decision during Dragons vs Ba11sy Trichy TNPL match in Coimbatore.
After being declared out by the on-field umpire off Ashwin's delivery, batsman R Rajkumar decided to go for a review. The on-field decision of 'out' went upstairs for a DRS review after which the third umpire reversed the decision, declaring it 'not-out' on the big screen. This somehow triggered Ashwin, who then decided to review the decision once again. The third-umpire again ran sequences of the entire delivery frame by frame and eventually the decision remained not out.

Talking about the match result, Ba11sy Trichy could score just 120 runs in 19.1 overs. Dragons captain Ashwin bowled brilliantly and also took two wickets for 26 runs in 4 overs. Notably, his spell included a maiden over - a very rare feat in T20 cricket. In reply, Dindigul Dragons won the match by 6 wickets after losing 4 wickets in 14.5 overs. Opener Shivam Singh was the pick of batters as he played a gritty innings of 46 runs in 30 balls. Things got pretty intense in the death overs but Subodh Bhati powered Dragons to a memorable victory by scoring match-defying 19 runs off just 8 balls.
