'They Have Shown Others How To Play T20': Dinesh Karthik Backs England To Win T20 WC 2021

ICC T20 Cricket World Cup: Dinesh Karthik put his money on England to win the ICC T20 World Cup that is supposed to be played later this year.

Cricketer turned commentator, Dinesh Karthik, fondly known as 'DK' considers England to be the favourites to win the upcoming ICC Cricket T20 Cricket World Cup. Karthik was in conversation with Isa Guha and Daren Sammy in a video on ICC's Twitter page. Karthik said: "I put money on England for sure!"

England has a great T20I side despite them struggling in the Test series against India. The ongoing Hundred League has seen some great performances from young Englan batsmen. Dawid Malan, Jason Roy, Liam Livingstone and Jos Buttler are some of the serious hitters present in the England team. Karthik has a point when he picks England as his favourite to win the tournament.

"If you remove my bias for India, I would put England on top.

The brand of cricket that they played they’ve consistently shown other countries, how to play this format right from ball one," said DK on ICC's Twitter page.

They showed in the 50 over format, but more so in T20. The team that he (Eoin Morgan) has found; it has some stars in it. Liam Livingstone can hit the ball from Dubai to Sharjah for all I know,' Karthik added.

Dinesh Karthik also mentioned spinner Adil Rashid. "Adil Rashid is doing so well and these are critical players for them," he concluded.

The International Cricket Council on Tuesday announced the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 schedule which will be held between 17 October and 14 November in Oman and UAE. England is part of the group that consists of Australia, South Africa and the West Indies. Fans are calling it the group of death as all teams are equipped enough to qualify for knockouts.
