T20 World Cup 2024: Will Virat Kohli Play India vs Bangladesh Warm-Up Match In Nassau Stadium?

There is uncertainty regarding Virat Kohli's participation in IND vs BAN T20 World Cup warm-up match at the newly-built Nassau County International Cricket Stadium. 

Virat Kohli in Ind vs Ban warmup match: Indian cricket team batting legend Virat Kohli arrived in New York on Friday (May 31) ahead of India vs Bangladesh T20 World Cup warm-up clash on Saturday (June 1).

With Kohli arriving late in New York, five days after other India players landed in the city, there is uncertainty regarding his participation in tonight's IND vs BAN T20 World Cup warm-up match at the newly-built Nassau County International Cricket Stadium.

Will Virat Kohli play IND vs BAN T20 World Cup warm-up match? 

Following a lengthy 16-hour flight, Virat Kohli's participation in IND vs BAN T20 World Cup warm-up match will depend on his personal inclination and readiness. After their only warm-up match against Bangladesh, India's first match in ICC T20 World Cup 2024 tournament will be against Ireland on Wednesday (June 5).

Before Kohli's arrival, the Indian team arrived in two contingents in USA on May 25 and May 28. 

Virat Kohli has so far scored 1,141 runs in 25 innings across 27 matches in ICC T20 World Cup 2024, with a remarkable average of 81.50 and a strike rate of 131.30. He has recorded 14 half-centuries in the tournament. Notably, out of these 1,141 runs, 518 have come during run chases.

Virat Kohli has been in exceptional form in T20 cricket. In IPL 2024, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star emerged as the top run-scorer, amassing 751 runs in 15 matches and earning the Orange Cap.

Speaking ahead of ICC T20 World Cup tournament, Virat Kohli shared his thoughts on the rise of cricket in USA.

"Honestly, I never thought that we would be playing cricket in any form in the States. But now it's a reality. That tells you about the growing impact of the sport in the world.

"The United States is more than willing to accept the change and be probably the first one on a global scale to accept it in a way with the World Cup, which is I think it's a great start. It's the ideal way to begin. So I think it's going to have a huge impact," Kohli said in a video posted on X.
