IND vs NZ, World Cup 2023: Shubman Gill got out for 26 off 31 against the Kiwis but only after he had broken a massive world record.

He accomplished this remarkable milestone in just 38 innings, surpassing the previous record held by former South African opener Hashim Amla, who achieved the feat in 40 innings for the Proteas.
Gill's latest achievement comes on the back of his stellar performance in the previous match, where he scored his maiden half-century in the competition, contributing 54 runs to give India a strong start in a challenging chase at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Pune. Gill got out for 26 off 31 against the Kiwis.
Gill won the ICC Men's Player of the Month for September 2023
Throughout this year, the opening batsman has displayed exceptional form, amassing 1300 runs in 22 innings in 2023. He has notched up five half-centuries and as many centuries during this period and is considered a key player for the Indian team in the ongoing competition. His exceptional form won him the ICC Men's Player of the Month award for September 2023.
Prior to the match against Bangladesh, Gill emphasised the importance of maintaining a stable mindset and adhering to the basics to achieve success in the quadrennial tournament. He shared his thoughts before the game, stating, “It is very important to stick to my basics and do what I regularly do, especially leading up to the match. Have a good mindset and that is what I am doing."
He also added, "Experience was great, played my first match against Pakistan. It was a big match for us. We have the right momentum with us, hopefully we can keep it going."
As far as the ongoing clash between India and New Zealand in Dharamsala is concerned, Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to field first, putting New Zealand, led by Tom Latham, in to bat. New Zealand faced a rocky start as Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami claimed a wicket each, limiting New Zealand to just 34 runs in their first 10 overs.
However, a resilient partnership between Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell helped New Zealand recover from their early troubles, with Mitchell achieving his 5th ODI century. New Zealand set a target of 274 runs for India.
