Saha Undergoes Surgery For Finger Fracture Sustained During Pink Ball Test

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday released a statement, informing Saha will be soon beginning his rehabilitation process at the National Cricket Academy, Bengaluru.

India wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha had a successful surgery to operate upon a fracture on his right ring finger that he sustained during the Pink ball Test against Bangladesh at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday released a statement, informing Saha will be soon beginning his rehabilitation process at the National Cricket Academy, Bengaluru. "The BCCI Medical Team consulted a hand and wrist specialist and it was suggested that Saha undergoes a surgical fixation of the fracture. Subsequently, he underwent successful surgery in Mumbai on Tuesday and will soon commence his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy, Bengaluru," BCCI wrote in their statement. India clean swept the 2-match Test series against Bangladesh by winning both the matches by an innings. Saha also reached an individual landmark during the second Test as he completed 100 dismissals in the longest format, becoming the fifth Indian wicket-keeper to do so on the way. However, Saha is still a far way off from bettering or even getting near the record set by MS Dhoni, who has 294 dismissals to his name in 90 matches. The list also includes legendary names such as Syed Kirmani, Nayan Mongia and Kiran More. Since last year, Saha has suffered multiple injuries. The 35-year-old was forced to return home after suffering a hamstring injury during the Test against South Africa in Cape Town after. Later he suffered a thumb injury that kept his participation in Indian Premier League (IPL) to only a few matches. The injury also kept him out of the one-off test against Afghanistan
