Australia’s first-class cricketer Campbell Kellaway grabbed headlines on March 18 (Tuesday) with a stunning catch during Victoria’s Sheffield Shield 2024-25 match against Western Australia at the WACA Stadium in Perth. What brought all the spotlight on Campbell Kellaway was his exceptional fielding effort, as he pulled off a sensational one-handed catch to dismiss Cameron Gannon. The stunning grab drew widespread praise, with none other than Sachin Tendulkar comparing Kellaway to ‘Superman’ and ‘Spiderman’ for his extraordinary effort.

The moment unfolded in the 75th over of the innings when Western Australia were 308/7 in pursuit of a 382-run target. Victoria skipper Will Sutherland bowled a short-pitched delivery that Cameron Gannon attempted to hook. Positioned at deep square leg, Campbell Kellaway leaped and stretched out fully to pull off a stunning catch.

Kellaway sprinted in but quickly realised the ball was soaring over his head. Adjusting on the run, he stretched out and brought an end to Gannon’s innings with a spectacular grab. While his brilliance left everyone in awe, even the commentators were stunned, calling it the “catch of a lifetime.”

The sensational catch also caught the attention of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, who showered praise on the Australian, calling him ‘Superman’ and ‘Spiderman’ for his extraordinary effort. Taking to his official social media handle, Tendulkar said, “Was it an audition for SpiderMan or Superman? This is truly a mind-boggling catch. Simply awesome…”
