Rohit, at 37 years old, scored 52 runs off 37 balls, including three sixes and four fours. His innings were instrumental in India's dominant eight-wicket victory over Ireland, led by Paul Stirling. The massive win set a positive tone for India's campaign in T20 World Cup 2024 tournament.
The victory over Ireland marked a significant milestone for Rohit Sharma, making him the third Indian cricketer to achieve 300 wins in international matches. He joins the elite company of Sachin Tendulkar, who has 307 wins from 664 matches, and Virat Kohli, who has 314 wins.

In IND vs IRE T20 World Cup 2024 match, India captain Rohit Sharma completed 4,000 runs in T20 International matches. The seasoned opener is now the second Indian cricketer to achieve this landmark, following Virat Kohli. He joins Pakistan captain Babar Azam as one of the only three batsmen in the world to have scored more than 4,000 runs in T20 Internationals.

Rohit Sharma has now set a new record for playing most matches in the history of ICC T20 World Cup. He also crossed the 1,000 run mark in T20 World Cup tournaments.
Rohit Sharma now also holds the record for playing the most T20 Internationals (152). Ireland's Paul Stirling is the only other player to have played more than 140 matches.
Rohit is tied with Australia's Glenn Maxwell for the most T20I centuries, with both having scored five centuries each. In terms of half-centuries and above, Rohit has the third highest number of 50+ scores (34) in T20Is, trailing behind Pakistan's Babar Azam (39) and India's Virat Kohli (38).
