A video apparently showing Rinku Singh's father delivering LPG cylinder has gone viral on social media.

While Rinku Singh is a name that has made a lot of noise for all the right reasons in Indian cricket in the recent past and the youngster looks set to get a place in India's squad for the T20 World Cup 2024, his journey to being one of the brightest young talents in the Indian team hasn't been easy. The 23-year-old became a household name after he emerged as Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) leading run-scorer with 474 runs in 14 matches in the 2023 edition of the tournament.

Rinku famously hit five sixes in the last over to help KKR snatch a win from the jaws of defeat against Gujarat Titans (GT) in a league stage fixture of the 2023 season to grab all the attention and eyeballs. The world gradually noticed his excellent credentials even in domestic cricket where he has been a consistent performer. However, his rise to the top has been a journey full of obstacles and hardships with Rinku having to help his father, Khanchandra Singh, in delivering LPG cylinders

While Rinku had reportedly revealed that his father has refused to give up his job despite his early success, a video apparently showing Rinku's father delivering LPG cylinder in UP has gone viral on social media. ABP Live, however, could not independently verify the authenticity of the viral clip.

Rinku Singh Retained By KKR For IPL 2024

Rinku has taken to the finisher's role in the Indian setup like a fish to water. However, selectors and the management will keep an eye on his form in the IPL before selecting the final squad for the T20 World Cup 2024 in June. Rinku will continue to ply his trade for KKR after being retained by the franchise ahead of IPL 2024.
