Padikkal whi usually gives a good start to the unit, could not tack the attack and so did the skipper Kohli, who returned to pavalions contributing mere 7(7). AB de Villiers did pull of the game to quite an extent. His boundaries allowed him make strong 24 runs from 24 deliveries. Josh Philippe 32(31) too contributed big sum but all in vain, as when put to bowl later in the second half, the bowlers leaked several lengths and boundaries. Sandeep Sharma, Jason Holder bagged two wickets each while Shahbaz Nadeem, Rashid Khan, Natrajan further strengthened the team with their deliveries.
