Ravindra Jadeja To Miss India vs England 3rd Test In Rajkot: Report

A hamstring injury typically takes three to eight weeks to heal fully. It's highly probable that Ravindra Jadeja might not only miss the 3rd Test in Rajkot but also the 4th Test in Ranchi.

Team India's star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is anticipated to require additional time for recovery from his hamstring injury, suggesting that he is likely to miss the IND vs ENG 3rd Test in Rajkot, Cricbuzz reported. Jadeja is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) following a hamstring injury sustained during India's run chase in Hyderabad. Additionally, KL Rahul is set to miss the IND vs ENG 2nd Test in Vizag due to pain in his right quadriceps.

A hamstring injury typically takes three to eight weeks to heal fully. Given this timeline, it's highly probable that Jadeja might not only miss the 3rd Test in Rajkot but also the 4th Test in Ranchi.

Jadeja sustained his injury in January, and it appears highly unlikely for the all-rounder to rejoin the Indian Test team before IND vs ENG 4th Test, which is scheduled to be played from February 23 to 27, approximately a month after he sustained the injury.

Jadeja's injuries over the past years indeed raise concerns for Team India regarding his fitness and durability.

The premier all-rounder endured a knee injury during the Asia Cup, compelling him to remain sidelined for the subsequent six months following a surgery. Despite diligent efforts for Saurashtra in the Ranji Trophy, he missed several events, including the T20 World Cup, the Bangladesh tour, the home series against Sri Lanka and New Zealand, before eventually making his eagerly anticipated comeback in the Test series against Australia.

The BCCI Medical Team is closely monitoring the progress of Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul recovery. The Selection Committee has reinforced India's squad for IND vs ENG 2nd Test by adding Sarfaraz Khan, Sourabh Kumar, and Washington Sundar.

Updated India squad for IND vs ENG 2nd Test: Rohit Sharma (C), Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shreyas Iyer, KS Bharat (WK), Dhruv Jurel (WK), Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohd. Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah (VC), Avesh Khan, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, Washington Sundar, Sourabh Kumar.
