NZ vs SA: Kane Williamson Surpasses Virat Kohli To Achieve Historic ODI Milestone

NZ vs SA: Kane Williamson scored a brilliant 133* off just 113 balls against South Africa to help the Kiwis chase a 305-run target and he also overtook Virat Kohli to achieve a historic ODI record.

NZ vs SA: New Zealand's veteran batter Kane Williamson etched his name in history with a brilliant unbeaten 133 off 113 balls in the second ODI against South Africa during the ongoing tri-series in Pakistan on February 10 (Monday). His 14th ODI century guided the Kiwis to a commanding six-wicket victory while successfully chasing 305 at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium. In the process, Williamson became the fastest New Zealand batter to reach 7,000 ODI runs and the second-fastest overall, surpassing Indian legend Virat Kohli.

Kane Williamson has surpassed Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Sourav Ganguly, Rohit Sharma, Brian Lara and others to become the second-fastest batter to reach 7,000 ODI runs. He achieved the milestone in just 159 innings, while Kohli took 161 innings.

Hashim Amla remains the fastest to the landmark, reaching the feat in just 150 innings. Before Williamson, Martin Guptill held the record for being the quickest New Zealand player to 7,000 ODI runs, achieving it in 186 innings.

With this century, Williamson also matched AB de Villiers on the list of batters with the most international hundreds, reaching his 47th ton in his 365th match. He shares the 14th spot for the most international centuries, a list topped by Sachin Tendulkar with 100 hundreds.
