New Zealand Cricketer Bowls 11 Overs In An ODI Game. Know Why

During her 11 overs of the spell, Carson went on to give 41 runs in her 11 overs and bagged two important wickets.

Eden Carson, an off-spinner from New Zealand attained a strange record on Friday in the second women's ODI against Sri Lanka in Galle.  Carson bowled 11 overs during the game and what came as a surprise was the on-field umpires and the match officials did not notice the error. During her 11 overs of the spell, Carson went on to give 41 runs in her 11 overs and bagged two important wickets.

Carson completed her spell after the conclusion of the 45th over. But because of a huge blunder by the officials saw her return to action in the 47th over. Talking about the match, New Zealand tied the series after a brilliant 116-run win and forced the decider. After batting first, the Kiwis posted a huge total of  329/7 in 50 overs, kudos to centuries from captain Sophie Devine and Amelia Kerr.

Both Kerr and Devine built a 229 runs stand for the third wicket which is the third most for New Zealand and the biggest in a women's ODI in Sri Lanka. Kerr made 108 off 106 balls while Devine scored 137 off just 121 deliveries, hitting 17 boundaries.
