Mayank Agarwal Posts Hilarious Picture On Social Media After Recent 'Water Bottle Accident'

Indian batter Mayank Agarwal opted to carry his own water bottle after falling ill last month due to consuming water from a pouch during a flight and the social media is left in splits.

Mayank Agarwal, the captain of Karnataka in Ranji Trophy 2023-24, shared a photo of himself on social media, holding a water bottle on a flight as he prepares for the Ranji Trophy quarter-finals. In January, the cricketer fell ill and had to be urgently taken to the hospital after consuming what he thought to be water, from a pouch.

While on another flight, Agarwal shared a picture with a water bottle, accompanied by the caption, "Bilkul bhi risk nahi lene ka re babaaaaa (Absolutely no risk-taking)." 

Mayank Agarwal's post has drawn funny reactions from social media users. Additionally, the photo has become viral, garnering over 121,000 likes on X (formerly known as Twitter) and accumulating over 450,000 views.

Story Behind Agarwal's Illness

For the unversed, Mayank Agarwal was preparing to travel from Tripura to New Delhi with his teammates when an alarming incident occurred. Shortly before the scheduled flight departure, Agarwal fell seriously ill. Accidentally consuming a substance from a pouch, thinking it was water, led to immediate discomfort and a burning sensation.

This unexpected situation prompted an urgent action, with Agarwal swiftly taken to a local hospital in Agartala for medical attention. Agarwal experienced stomach pain, swelling, and ulcers in his mouth, indicating the ingestion of a potentially harmful substance. In response to these developments, Agarwal filed a police complaint through his manager, seeking an investigation into the matter.

Agarwal's Karnataka Into The Quarter-Finals Of Ranji Trophy 2023-24

In the Ranji Trophy 2023-24, Mayank Agarwal is set to captain Karnataka in the first quarter-final against Vidarbha. The knockout match will take place at Nagpur's Civil Lines Stadium from February 23 to 27. 

Karnataka secured the second position in the Elite Group C points table. The team achieved three victories in seven matches, while in the remaining four matches, they suffered one defeat and settled for three draws.

With a total of 27 points from seven games, Karnataka managed to secure a place in the quarter-finals, narrowly surpassing Gujarat, who finished third on the table with 25 points. Despite Gujarat winning four out of seven matches, they faced two defeats, impacting their overall standing.
