Matheesha Pathirana Bids Emotional Farewell To CSK After Being Ruled Out Of IPL 2024 With Injury
Matheesha Pathirana shared an emotional post on Instagram, terming it a "hard goodbye" as he left CSK and IPL 2024 due to an injury.
Matheesha Pathirana, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) speedster, has returned to Sri Lanka following an injury which has ruled him out of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Pathirana expressed his disappointment at not being able to complete the season with the five-time champions. It is pertinent to note, however, that Pathirana is expected to be fit in tim for the T20 World Cup.
While he was with CSK in IPL 2024, the right-arm fast bowler did manage to make an impact, having scalped 13 wickets in 6 IPL matches. However, an injured knee cut short his season. Before leaving the country, Pathirana shared an emotional Instagram post.

CSK At Number 3 Position In IPL 2024
As far as CSK are concerned, they find themselves at the third place on the IPL 2024 points table with 6 wins from 11 matches. However, there are three teams tied on 12 points each and hat makes the scanerio for Qualification to the Playoffs tricker for the Men in Yellow than it might initially seem to the eye.
CSK's last three matches in IPL 2024 are against Gujarat Titans (GT), Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). While GT and RCB are in the bottom half of the IPL 2024 points table, RR have been one of the teams to beat in the season so far, winning 8 of their 10 matches so far.
