Jasprit Bumrah Takes Revenge On Sam Konstas, Mimics The Australian With A Dramatic Send-Off | WATCH

Bumrah vs Konstas: Jasprit Bumrah won the second round of battle with the 19-year-old Australian debutant Sam Konstas on Day 4 of the IND vs AUS Boxing Day Test.

Bumrah vs Konstas: Jasprit Bumrah took his revenge on Australian debutant Sam Konstas on Day 4 of the India vs Australia Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on December 29 (Sunday). Bumrah clean-bowled Konstas and also gave the youngster a send-off, mimicking the 19-year-old Australian’s gesture of egging the MCG crowd on from earlier in the match.

Konstas, who had been aggressive and dominant against the Indian bowlers, including Bumrah, in the first innings, couldn't repeat his performance in the second. Opening the batting with Usman Khawaja, Konstas faced a relentless spell of fast bowling from Bumrah and Akash Deep, before departing after just 18 balls. Konstas, who had struck six boundaries and two sixes—both off Bumrah’s bowling—in the first innings, could only hit one boundary, that too off an edge, during Australia's second innings.

Bumrah bowled a brilliant in-cutter in the 7th over to dismiss Konstas. The ball, pitched on a good length, seamed back through the gap between Konstas’s bat and pad, clipping the top of the off-stump. Konstas was left baffled as Bumrah celebrated the wicket animatedly as he  extended both hands and urged the crowd to cheer, mimicking Konstas's earlier gesture after Virat Kohli’s dismissal.

Nitish Kumar Reddy's Heroic Century Headlines India's Fightback

India were bowled out for 369 runs on Day 4 in the India vs Australia Boxing Day Test. Nitish Kumar Reddy was the last man dismissed as he went for an aggressive shot, attempting to hit Nathan Lyon straight down the ground. Reddy, along with Washington Sundar, played a crucial role in India's recovery after conceding 474 runs to Australia, sharing a 127-run partnership that reduced the deficit to 105 runs.

Starting the day at 358-9, India added 11 more runs before Lyon dismissed centurion Reddy, who had scored a valuable 114 runs, including 11 boundaries and a six. Reddy’s knock also set the record for the second-highest score by a batter at number 8 or lower in Australia.
