IPL 2022 Auction: Top 5 Overseas Players Who Could Earn A Fat Paycheck

A total of 370 Indian players and 220 overseas players will be up for grabs.

New Delhi: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction will see some of the biggest names across the globe go under the hammer.

A total of 370 Indian players and 220 overseas players will be up for grabs. Let us look at some overseas players who could likely see the teams breaking the bank for them:

David Warner

Three Orange Caps, 5449 IPL runs, title-winning skipper, this man needs no more introduction. Warner was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2014 auction for Rs 5.5 crore. In 2016, he was appointed captain of the side. That year, Warner led Sunrisers to their first IPL title, in which he contributed 848 runs at a 60.57 average. With his base price set at 2 crore INR, he will surely be a hot prospect during the Auction dynamics.

Pat Cummins

The Australian Test Captain was bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders for 15.5 crores in the 2020 auction. Handy with the bat and ball, despite his underwhelming performance in IPL 2020 with the ball, he was more than decent with the bat. With a dearth of good quality all-rounders in the IPL, Pat Cummins could be involved in another bidding war.

Kagiso Rabada

With his South-African teammate being retained by the Delhi Capitals, Kagiso Rabada will have a point to prove this IPL. In IPL 2021 he picked 15 wickets with an economy of 8.14 and a proven pedigree, Kagiso Rabada will sure have many admirers in this auction.

Quinton de Kock

The opening wicket-keeping batsman had a stellar 2020 season, scoring 503 runs, including four half-centuries at the top. With an underwhelming display in the 2021 season, scoring 297 runs in 11 games,Quinton de Kock will be looking to make amends this season. Expect a big bidding war for this swashbuckling opener.

Jason Holder

Jason Holder is a utility lower-order batsman who can clear the ground as well as a handy medium pacer who has a lot of variations up his sleeve. In the 2021 IPL edition, Holder put in some impactful performances for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. He picked up 16 wickets from 8 matches at an economy rate of 7.75 and showed some big hitting skills down the order. Holder recently became the first West Indian bowler to take a hat-trick in T20Is, picking up four wickets in four balls.
