IND Vs ENG: Opening Batting Still A BIG Cause Of Concern For Team India

Indian opening batsmen have scored only 30 Runs in the four T20I matches against England. Will Virat make any changes in the top order?

India vs England 4th T20I was a comeback match for team India as they defeated the visitors by eight runs to equal the T20I series at 2-2. But, even after securing the victory, the problems for the captain are far from over. Especially, the problems at the top of the order. The opening stand for India in this T20I series has never gone beyond 21 runs. In the first three matches, it didn’t go beyond seven runs.

In the first match Dhawan and Rahul scored 4 and 1 respectively. In the second T20I, Rahul scored a duck. In the third match, Rohit and Rahul scored 15 and 0 respectively. Finally in the fourth T20I, The opening partnership went beyond the double figure mark; Rohit and Rahul scored 12 and 14 respectively.

In the post-match presentation, Kohli didn’t comment on the batting performance of any of the openers in the post-match presentation. But considering the fact that the T20 World Cup scheduled to be played in October, it will be imperative for Kohli to find a permanent solution to this top order problem in T20Is.

Come the 5th India vs England T20I, will we see any changes in the Indian batting order. With the series still alive, both teams would go in with their full monty top try and win the series 3-2. For that to happen, India would be definitely looking to improve their top order batting.

"He (KL Rahul) has been a Champions player. He'll continue to be one of our main players along with Rohit at the top of the order. It's a matter of five-six balls in this format," Virat Kohli had said after the post-match presentation of the 3rd T20I.

Will we see any changes in the India squad, only time can tell.
