India Vs Bangladesh, 1st Test: India ended Day 2 with a massive lead of 310 runs, as the bowling department, led by talisman Jasprit Bumrah ran through the defnces of the Bangladeshi batters, as the visitors had no reply to the wrath of Indian bowlers.

However, India's top-order yet again failed to deliver in this Test match, as the legendary duo of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli could not manage even an individual score of 20+. While Rohit Sharma fell for single digit dismissals, Virat Kohli managed to get into double-figures but fell prey to Mehidy Hasan, as this now marks his 39th Test dismissal against an off-spinner.

India Vs Bangladesh 1st Test Day 2 | As It Happened

Day 2in Chennai started off on a dismal note for the Indian side, as the overnight score of 339 saw an addition of merely four runs before Ravindra Jadeja's dismissal. Also, with the dismissal, the memorable partnership of him and Ravichandran Ashwin fell one shy off 200, as Taskin Ahmed denied Ravindra Jadeja his 5th Test century.

The tailends could not do much as India were bowled out for 376 and Bangladesh made a positive start to Day 2. Hasan Mahmud has announced himself on the big stage as he picked up a fifer which included the key dismissals of world-class Indian batters.

The Bangla Tigers failed to carry the momentum, as their fun was short-lived via a disastrous batting display, which saw the visitors getting bundled out for less than 150.

It all started with the dismissal of Shadnam Islam, as Jasprit Bumrah was spot-on right from the word go, as he cleaned him up with a peach of a delivery.

Jasprit Bumrah was well-complemented by Akash Deep, who picked two wickets in two consecutive balls, as Bangladesh coaching staff in the dugout were mere spectators to the world-class bowling at display from the Indian pacers.

Wickets fell in quick succession as legendary all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan managed to top-score with an individual score of 32, as Bangladesh were dismissed for 149 within 47.1 overs.

In reply, India were off to a frantic start, but Day 2 ended with India scoring 81/3 and will carry the overnight score into Day 3, with Gill sitting unbeaten on the score of 33.
