IND vs BAN: Hasan Mahmud was the wrecker-in-chief for Bangladesh. His five-wicket haul helped the Bangla Tigers bowl India out for 376.

IND vs BAN: Bangladesh have bowled India out for 376 in the first innings of the series opener at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday (September 20). While Ravichandran Ashwin (113) and Ravindra Jadeja (86) were the star performers for the hosts with the bats, reviving the Indian innings with their record-shattering 199-run stand for the seventh wicket after the Men in Blue were reduced to 144/6 at one stage.

For Bangladesh, it was Hasan Mahmud who was the wrecker-in-chief with the ball, scalping 5 wickets for 83 runs. Bangladesh Elect To Bowl First In Chennai

The visitors, high on a historic series win over Pakistan, were very clear regarding how they wanted to go about their business and had no hesitation in winning the toss and elected to bowl first. Bangladesh's pacers backed the captain's decision with their performance with Hasan leading the wicket-taking business. At one stage, India were in danger of getting out for less than 200.

However, it was the local lad Ashwin who put his hand up and scored an attacking hundred, taking the attack back to the opposition. Ashwin looked at ease against both the spinners and pacers and once the Bangladesh bowlers felt under pressure, Jadeja also came to his own. The duo ensured India did not lose any more wicket on Day 1, going to Stumps at 339/6.

On Day 2, however, India could not get past the 400-run mark, one which they would have fancied while Ashwin and Jadeja were there. Taskin Ahmed removed Jadeja to break the stand after which Indian tail couldn't wag for long, with the Indian side getting all out for 376. Ashwin too fell to Taskin with the pacer finishing with figures of 3/55. Nahid Rana and Mehidy Hasan Miraz picked up a wicket each.
