India Bowlers Face Racial Abuse At Sydney, BCCI Lodge Complaint

On the third day of India vs Australia Sydney Test, a big controversy erupted. Team India's fast bowlers Jasprit Burmah and Mohammed Siraj have faced racial abuse from the crowd and after this, the Indian cricket team have lodged its official complaint with match referee David Boon.

After the third day's play was over, Team India captain Ajinkya Rahane, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj were seen talking to Cricket Australia officials and match referees. Team India management lodged an official complaint. After the case of racial comments on Indian players, now Australian fans are being trolled fiercely on social media. Many fans have asked to cancel the tour of Australia.

Australian newspaper Daily Telegraph claims that Mohammed Siraj and Bumrah were being abused by the viewers for the last two days. While Siraj was standing at the Randwick end, a spectator sitting there abused him, when he was fielding at the fine leg boundary. The same happened with Bumrah as he too faced racial jibes and by the end of the third day's play, the matter gained heat.

This is the third controversy that has come to light during India's tour of Australia. "The tour has surely turned sour and the last thing you expect in a civilized society is racial abuse. The ICC (International Cricket Council) and Cricket Australia need to be very responsive to this as the possible alternatives are not very pleasant for cricket, especially during the present circumstances. The Sydney Test has now become an acid test for CA interim CEO Nick Hockley and we are in complete solidarity with our boys. Racial abuse is unacceptable," a BCCI official was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
