From Shardul To Shubman: Players Who Will Miss India vs Australia 3rd ODI In Rajkot

IND vs AUS: Many players who were part of India's squad during this series will most likely be absent from the lineup for the upcoming match at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, today.

IND vs AUS 3rd ODI: Team India on Wednesday (September 27) will square off against Australia in the third and final One-Day-International of the ongoing three-match ODI series in Rajkot. The Men in Blue have already secured 2-0 series win over five time World Cup winners, having triumphed in the first two ODI matches in Mohali and Indore. For IND vs AUS 3rd ODI, team India will witness the return of senior players -- Rohit Sharma, Kuldeep Yadav, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah -- who were rested for the initial two ODIs. Nevertheless, despite the comeback of these star players, it is expected that team India won't field a fully-strengthened squad in 3rd ODI. In fact, many players who were part of India's squad during this series will be absent from the lineup for the upcoming match at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, today.

List of players who were part of India squad for first two ODIs but will miss the IND vs AUS 3rd ODI

Shubman Gill: Star opener Shubman Gill, who scored 74 and 104 in first two ODIs, has been reportedly rested by the team management for 3rd ODI, keeping in mind workload management.  

Ruturaj Gaikwad: The talented youngster, part of India's cricket team for Asian Games 2023, was picked only for first two ODIs.

Prasidh Krishna: The pacer was picked only for first two ODIs and won't be part of 3rd ODI in Rajkot. He played 2nd ODI in Indore and bagged two scalps in back-to-back deliveries in his first over itself.

Shardul Thakur: The pace bowling all-rounder played first two ODIs against Australia but failed to get any wicket. He has reportedly been rested for India vs Australia 3rd ODI.

Axar Patel: As per a report in Cricbuzz, Axar Patel is yet to fully recover from left quadriceps strain and is undergoing rehab at Bengaluru's NCA. The report in Cricbuzz claims that Axar will miss IND vs AUS 3rd ODI.

Mukesh Kumar: The pacer was brought in for 2nd ODI as Jasprit Bumrah's replacement but didn't play the match and with Bumrah returning for 3rd ODI, he will be dropped from the team for 3rd ODI.

Tilak Verma: The talented youngster was part of the Indian contingent for first two ODIs but didn't get a chance to play. He won't be part of 3rd ODI and will travel to China to represent India in cricket event at Asian Games 2023.
