India Squad For T20 World Cup 2024: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced India's squad for the T20 World Cup 2024 set to be be played in the Carrribean and USA in June this year. Sanju Samson has got a place in the 15-member contingent while the selectors have overlooked KL Rahul and Rinku Singh, the latter of whom does feature as a travelling reserve.

While it was already confirmed that Rohit Sharma will be leading the side, all-rounder Hardik Pandya has walked into the team as the vice-captain of the side despite his not-so-impressive form with the ball in hand. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli has been trusted with a place in the Indian side contrary to all reports which suggested that he was no longer an automated selection.

Yuzvendra Chahal Gets A Chance, Shubman Gill Finds A Place In India T20 World Cup 2024 Squad As Travelling Reserve

Meanwhile, Yuzvendra Chahal has managed to find a place in the Indian squad for the World Cup. India's highest wicket-taker in T20Is is yet to play a T20 World Cup game but with him getting a nod ahead of Ravi Bishnoi, he could finally be tried in USA and West Indies.

As far as the reserves are concerned, Shubman Gill finds a place as a reserve along with Rinku Singh, Khaleel Ahmed and Avesh Khan. Mohammed Siraj, despite not registering the best performances in IPL 2024, has been trusted with a place in the main squad that will represent India in USA and the Carribbean Islands.



India play Ireland in their T20 World Cup opener on June 5 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York. They will take on Pakistan in the marquee clash against Pakistan on June 9 before meeting USA and Canada in group fixtures on June 12 and June 15 respectively.
