55 All Out: Netizens Flood Social Media With Memes As India Beat Sri Lanka By 302 Runs In World Cup Clash
IND vs SL, World Cup 2023: Netizens were quick to react with hilarious memes as India beat Sri Lanka by 302 runs.
India beat Sri Lanka by a massive margin of 302 runs in their ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 group-stage face-off at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday (November 2). After being asked to bat first, India, riding on half-centuries from Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer posted 357/8 before bundling out the opposition for just 55 with Mohammed Shami emerging as the pick of the bowlers with figures of 5/18.
It was a sensational seam bowling performance by the Indian pacers. Jasprit Bumrah started off the proceedings with a wicket off his first ball before being joined by Mohammed Siraj who too struck off his first delivery as India dismissed both opposition openers for a duck for the first time in ODIs.
Shami then came in one change but took two wickets in two balls to make the best of his rhythm, coming off a fifer and a four-wicket haul in his last two matches. Eventually, his fifer made him the team's leading wicket-taker in World Cups. Following India's exceptional performance, netizens flooded social media with hilarious memes. Notably, Sri Lanka had bundled out for 50 in the Asia Cup final against the same Indian pace trio and thus they have for all practical purposes lost 20 wickets for 110 runs

India's seven on the trot has helped them secure a place in the semis. They still have two more round-robin matches remaining with a fixture against South Africa at Eden Gardens, Kolkata and a match against the Netherlands in Bengaluru remaining.
