IND vs SA 2nd Test Highlights: India have started off the New Year in fine form beating South Africa by 7 wickets in the second and the final Test of the series at the Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town on Thursday (January 4) to level the series 1-1. In a match that lasted less than two days, itw as the pacers who had a fixture to remember. Mohammed Siraj was the hero for the visitors in the first innings, taking six wickets for 15 runs in his 9-over spell as the touring party bowled the Proteas out for 55.
In response, India were at one stage leading by 98 runs and had six wickets in their hand. However, they lost their remaining six wickets for no runs and once again it was the pacers who caused the damage with Lungi Ngidi and Kagiso Rabada being the wreckers-in-chief for the hosts, bowling India out for 153 in their first innings.

In the second innings, despite an improved performance with the bat and a fantastic hundred, given the circumstances from Aiden Markram, who scored 106 off 103 balls, Porteas only managed 176, meaning a 79-run target for Team India. This time around it was Jasprit Bumrah who stole the limelight for the touring side and he finished with figures of 6 for 61.
Needing 79 to win, Indian openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma made their intenetions pretty clear that they were going to play their shots and not try to defend in testing conditions in Cape Town. Jaiswal eventually got out for 28 off 23 but only after having set the perfect foundation for a modest target, falling to Nandre Burger.
Shubman Gill in at 3 also made 10 off 11 before being cleaned up by Kagiso Rabada. Virat Kohli departd for 12 near the finish line but India pulled off a famous win in Cape Town, their first such result in seven matches at this venue. Prior to this, they had played six matches at this venue, losing four and drawing the other two.
