IND Vs ENG 2nd Test: Watch Pujara Run-Out In A Bizzare Manner As Bat Gets Stuck In The Pitch

In a funny incident, Cheteshwar Pujara got run-out as his bat got stuck in the pitch as he tried to get back in his crease. Gavaskar sarcastically blamed the pitch for it. Watch the video here.

India vs England 2^nd Test is tilted completely in India’s favor on Day 3. India began the Day at 52/1 with Rohit and Pujara at the crease. But India lost Pujara very early on in the innings in an unfortunate way. The score was just 55/1 before Pujara went back in the hut. He stepped out to Moeen Ali and flicked the ball towards short-leg with soft hands. As the ball was fielded, Pujara tried to get back in a casual manner but Pope who was at the short-leg position flicked the ball quickly to the wicket-keeper Foakes who uprooted the stumps.

Pujara could have got back easily but while getting back in the crease, his bat got stuck in the pitch just behind the popping crease. He tried getting back in the crease using his hands and feet, but unfortunately for the batsman, he returned back only after the bails were dislodged by the wicket-keeper Foakes.

Sunil Gavaskar who was in the commentary box when the incident took place said, “The pitch should be blamed here for the wicket of Pujara. The bat got stuck as the pitch was dry.” Gavaskar was actually being sarcastic as a plethora of foreign players were blaming the pitch for favoring India.

Meanwhile, India looks in some trouble as they lose four early wickets within an hour on Day 3. Virat Kohli was at the crease with Axar Patel at the end of 32 overs with the score at 96/5 and the lead at 291 runs in the second innings.
