IND vs ENG 1st Test HIGHLIGHTS: England Beat India By 28 Runs

Background

IND vs ENG 1st Test, Day 4 LIVE: The series opener between India and England being played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad stands at an interesting turn. While England batted first after winning the toss and were bundled out for 246, India, in response, posted 436, riding on 80s from three of their batters- Yashasvi Jaiswal (80), KL Rahul (86) and Ravindra Jadeja (87). That meant India took a 190-run lead in the first innings.

In the second innings, Ravichandran Ashwin has helped India off to a great start by removing Zak Crawley in the 10th over and India now look to spin a web around the English batters and try and chase down whatever target is set for them in the fourth innings in what is expected to be a spin-friendly track.

On Day 3, Ollie Pope's superb rearguard 149* in the Hyderabad Test has injected a new sense of life into the match. England now find themselves in a position where they could potentially fancy their chances, especially if they can build upon their current lead with an additional 50 runs or so. Pope's resilient innings has not only bolstered England's total but has also shifted the dynamics of the game, making it a more competitive and intriguing contest.

Thanks to Pope's masterful century, England now holds a lead of 126 runs with four wickets still in hand. Despite England's advantageous position, the hosts remain confident in their ability to swing the momentum back in their favor come Sunday. The match hangs in the balance, promising an exciting conclusion as both teams strive for supremacy.
