Hardik Pandya to miss IND vs NZ WC match: In what comes as a huge setback for the Indian cricket team, their star all-rounder Hardik Pandya is set to miss ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match between India and New Zealand on Sunday (October 22) in Dharamshala, The Indian Express reported. It is anticipated that Hardik will recover in time and will be available for selection in India's ODI World Cup 2023 match against England, set to take place in Lucknow on October 29.

"He (Hardik Pandya) will be heading to Bengaluru where he has been asked to report to the NCA. The medical team assessed his ankle scan report and it looks he will be fine by taking an injection. The BCCI consulted a specialist doctor in England and they too were of the similar opinion. He will be missing the next game," The Indian Express quoted a BCCI official as saying.

How Hardik Pandya got injured in India vs Bangladesh ICC Cricket World Cup match in Pune

While bowling an over in the first innings against Bangladesh, Hardik Pandya attempted to stop a ball using his feet and unfortunately injured his left ankle. As per reported by The Indian Express, the star all-rounder is set to be transferred to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, where he will receive treatment from specialist doctors from England. After a much-needed seven day break, Hardik is expected to recover in time for India vs England ODI World Cup 2023 match in Lucknow on October 29.

India's flawless World Cup campaign, with 4 back-to-back wins in 4 matches, has been exemplary. It is pretty clear that the Indian team management is prioritizing safety over unnecessary risks as they still have five league matches remaining.
