Alastair Cook Induction Into ICC Hall Of Fame: Alastair Cook becomes the newest addition in the ICC Hall of Fame, as the former England great gets inducted in the 2024 edition. Arguably the greatest left-handed batsman ever produced by England, Alastair Cook was England's highest run-getter in Tests until Joe Root broke his record last week against Pakistan.

Here's What Alastair Cook Said After His Induction Into ICC Hall Of Fame

"It was a surprise, and certainly just when you read the list of people that you're joining, it's a great list to have joined. I feel very privileged. Ultimately, it's never me for me to define what I will be remembered for, or my legacy, whatever that will be. Every time I pulled on the English shirt, I tried my best to be as good as I could be," said Alastair Cook upon his induction.

"I had the best 20 years playing cricket. I was very lucky to stay injury-free, meet some great people, share some great highs, and some great lows, which I think are important as well, and make memories which I'll never forget. Elsie says I'm not quite as good as a fair few players now, but I think deep down they kind of know that I did play a little bit," added the England legend.

"When this award came up, I thought it was a great opportunity to, firstly get off a very wet farm, but also to kind of share something with the kids, who actually will remember it. I thought that was quite important. And obviously they get a few days off school too… I think that's probably their most important thing, rather than their dad picking up some kind of award," he further added.
